Macro: great and small
"To approach animals in their most natural, native settings. I have to understand the mysteries of their behavior. With careful preparation, I can show the animal in its best light, demonstrating its beauty, strength and intelligence."
( PAUL NICKLEN )
This is where I dabble, sometimes at home, sometimes away.
It's about finding beauty in small things. Often, I'm in the backyard and see a butterfly, bee, or water droplets on a flower, and I'll grab a camera.
Sometimes my wife Lesley has grown a lovely houseplant, and I put it in a room where the light is just right. Sometimes we travel to a local garden on a rainy day.
Sometimes I'm shooting eagles at a local lake, and a dragonfly comes by, or a nearby water lily is blooming.
Just maybe, it's a small still-life scene.
